Dr. Mark L. Farbman
Dr. Mark Lee Farbman was born in Baltimore, educated at the Baltimore City College, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Maryland.
Since graduating with honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Farbman has spent his entire professional career in private practice in Frederick County. He is the original founder of Longmeadow Optical.
A member of the American Optometric Association, Dr. Farbman is the former president of the Frederick County Optometry Society, and has served as the Western Maryland Liaison for the Maryland Optometric Association. He is a former optometry consultant at the Maryland School For The Deaf, and was recognized by President Clinton for his participation in the VisionUSA program which provided free eye exams to the needy.
With post graduate certification in both Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pharmacology, Dr. Farbman has been caring for the visual needs of Fredericktonians since 1973. He has a special interest in contact lenses and was an early member of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Farbman has advanced training in the fitting of all types of contact lenses including soft, rigid, gas permeable, astigmatic and bifocal designs. His patients range in age from eight to eighty.
Dr. Farbman resides in Frederick where is he active in the community. He enjoys bicycling, gardening, and playing with his grandchildren.
Dr. Dawn R. Gill
Dr. Gill is a graduate of Salisbury State University and Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She provides emergency eye care and is diagnostically and therapeutically certified to treat ocular diseases. Dr. Gill is a member of the Maryland Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Gill has been in practice at longmeadow optical for approximately 14 years and is an established partner in the practice. Dr Gill has enjoyed the opportunity to serve the Frederick area and resides in New Market, Md with her husband Chris and two children, Bridget and Riley.
Dr. Jennifer Chen
Dr. Jennifer Chen received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated with honors from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. She provides Primary Care Optometry specializing in Contact Lenses and is certified to diagnose and treat ocular diseases.
Dr. Chen has lived and worked in Maryland for 16 years. She has practiced on the Eastern Shore as well as in Montgomery County. Since moving to Frederick County in 2009 with her husband and three children, she has enjoyed learning the area and looks forward to meeting the community of Frederick through her work at Longmeadow Optical.
